What is Vana Toomas?
Vana Toomas (“Old Thomas”) is the city's old guardsman — a weathervane shaped like a soldier with a halberd. He has stood on top of the Town Hall spire since 1530. Locals consider him Tallinn's unofficial protector.
Where can I see the original?
The original from 1530 now lives indoors at the Tallinn City Museum. What you see on the spire today is a 1996 copy.
